Shop for your fruits and veggies in the open air at this farmers market making its debut in a Fresh Meadows park this month.
Starting May 28, Cunningham Park will be home to a new pop-up Down to Earth Farmers Market every Sunday until Nov. 19. The market will be open from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. and will be set up at the northeast corner of the park’s parking lot.
Vendors from the New York area scheduled to participate include Alex’s Tomato Farm from Sprakers, Arlotta Food Studio from Watermill and Goodale Farms Inc. from Riverhead. Items that will be for sale include fruits, vegetable, eggs, dairy, honey, flowers, baked goods and personal care items. The market will be hosted by the Jamaica Estates Association.

Founded in 1991, Down to Earth Farmers Markets manages 15 farmers markets in and around the New York City area. Their mission is to connect shoppers with regional farms and food producers to encourage neighbor-to-neighbor commerce, as well as educate consumers about the environment and the food economy.
